Meraker Norwegian Lutheran Congregation |
Located on section 27 of Deerfield Township, Steele County, Minnesota. Meraker Norwegian Lutheran Congregation was organized in 1875. It was not a part of the "Conference of the Norwegian-Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church of America" until 1878. In 1890 it left "The Conference" to become part of the United Norwegian Lutheran Church. Rev. Nils Olsen was their founding pastor and he served them until his death in 1884. There is a Norwegian cemetery at the location of the old church. |
